Flow uses Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi’s Experience Sampling Method to explore the level of similarity in thought and feeling patterns of a mother and her two daughters. The participants report how they are feeling and what they are thinking about eight times each day (at the same time) for one week. At the root of this exploration, I am interested in the verbal expression of self and the ability to affect one's level of being through an increased consciousness of mind and mental flow. For the installation three speakers are installed in a circular pattern, each one dedicated to one of the three audio records, inviting the viewer to “step inside” a family’s collective headspace. 2007
