a psychological mapping. an invitation for exchange. a reading of space. an investigation into a building. a connection between Akademie Schloss Solitude and the police boarding house.
There are many pasts contained within this building. Above the space you are standing is a police boarding house. The police are permitted to spend the night during shift blocks to avoid long commutes home. I was struck by the similarity of my living space, at the Akademie Schloss Solitude to the police boarding house; both spaces exist somewhere between a domestic, work and institutional setting. I wrote a letter to the police describing my living space and invited them to in turn describe theirs. The resultant piece is modeled after call-and-response communication - specifically a meditational invitation and imagined response.
